“The Beloved”
August 15, 2007 by lazaar24.
“The Beloved”
I intentionally chose the title “the beloved” to express my gratitude and debt to Sidi Elyasse Elyacobi whose article in the last issue of Mercy magazine; the beloved, inspired the following lines. I must also salute him for the vivid writing through which he took us on a journey of love for our beloved prophet Mohammed peace be upon him. This attempt is but a drop in the sea of love expressed in that article. We ask God the Almighty to increase in our hearts the love of the prophet. To every heart that vibrates with love of the prophet Mohammed, I dedicate this.
Once a Light walked on earth
Guiding mankind to the truth
Showing them the right way
After being led astray
Hearts around him quickly gathered
For he was always kind and trusted
Preaching to them the true faith
Sent down from Allah the merciful, the Great
Loving you oh Rasool-Allah is a duty
For your memory shall last all eternity
Engraved in the hearts of angels and saints
Your love is the key to heavens’ gates
Loving you is not an option
Yet a pillar for faith perfection
You are the guide of creation
To safety and salvation
Let a touch from your hand heal
A heart that is conflicted with ordeal
Let a glance from you liberate indeed
A soul trapped beneath misdeed
Sins overwhelmed my existence
And deprived me from any resistance
I kneel before you in remorse and sorrow
I seek refuge in your intercession tomorrow
Oh God grant us the bliss of seeing
Whom you made the perfect human being
May Allah guide us to the prophetic path
And spare us from His incurring wrath
Ameen.
